Pursuant to the provisions of the Ekiti State University Law No. 11 of 2011, the Governing Council of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti hereby notifies the Academic Community and the General Public of the existence of a vacancy for the post of Vice-Chancellor of the University and the intention to commence the process for filling the vacancy.

Qualification(s)

• Must be a Professor in an institution of high reputation

Job Experience & skills

• Minimum of 10 years by October, 2011 as a professor in an institution of high reputation


• Have extensive and deep experience in all facets of University administration and also capable of providing academic leadership


• Be a person who, judging from his/her track record, commands respect both nationally and internationally in the academic sphere aw well as have a track record of consistent and inspiring leadership


• Be morally sound, of unimpeachable character and integrity, free from financial embarrassment, and enjoy excellent physical and mental health


• Be computer literate and have adequate administrative and research experience for a sustainable realization of the mandate and mission of the University


• Must be a person who is not likely to pursue racial, ethnic, political, religious or other sectional interests

Responsibilities

• Be competent to advise the Council at all times on any matter affecting the policy, finance and administration of the university


• Be generally responsible to the Council for maintaining the efficiency and good order of the University and for ensuring discipline and the proper enforcement of the statutes, ordinances and regulations


• Be responsible for discipline in the university


• Regulate admission of students subject to guidelines and procedures approved by Senate
