Job title: Accountant/Finance
Qualification(s)
- Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Job Experience & skills
- 2 years work experience in a similar field
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Proficient computer skills, especially MS Excel
- Strongly motivated by humanitarian work
- Team leadership and good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a sense of initiative
- Methodical and rigorous
- Strong sense of responsibility and adaptability, able to work over time when needed
Responsibilities
- Book-keeping of cash and bank payments using SUN Accounting Software
- Supervision of accountant and cashier in Abuja
- Technical supervision of their accountants in Port Harcourt and Kano offices
- Reconcile bank books on a regular basis
- Prepare monthly consolidation and closing of accounts
- Estimate cash requirements for the month
- Technical support for budget elaboration and monitoring
- Ensuring respect of financial procedures and guidelines
- Audit supporting documents for all expenditures
- Audit book entries done by colleagues
- Initiate bank payments according to procedures
